September 2, 2008
In January 2005, the project on Access to Learning Materials in Southern Africa (A2LMSA) organised a regional conference at the Sunnyside Park Hotel in Johannesburg. Over two days, more than 300 visitors spoke, debated and participated in issues connected to access to knowledge. What follows is a set of presentations made at the conference; they include powerpoint slides, papers and discussion documents. Each individual document is labelled with the last name of the presenter.

Introduction

September 2, 2008

The project on Access to Learning Materials in Southern Africa ran between 2004 and 2005 from Johannesburg, South Africa. It served as an introductory exercise in mapping several of the issues that are being taken up in more detail today, such as – primarily – an investigation of copyright law with regards to access to knowledge. Included here are a set of documents (both internal and external) that serve as an outline of what the project was about.
